Blighted Makover Complete"
The La Hacienda Apartments was a single building renovation project consisting of 22 units in 17,813 sq.ft. The exterior renovations included roof replacement, demolition of courtyard, construction of new play structure, new BBQ and picnic tables, and landscaping. Interior renovations included replacement of HVAC, new plumbing, electrical, wall and ceiling insulation, appliances, cabinetry & countertops, floor coverings.
The project was developed by YES Housing Inc., and financed by the state Mortgage Finance Authority. The apartments are located in an area rich with history and are situated among many other historic homes in the oldest parts of Belen. The La Hacienda vision was to transform blighted units to quality homes, but also assist in the efforts to stabilize the historic Belen Community.
