Walking For a Cause

2011 Greater Portland Heart and Stroke Walk

Pavilion Construction Press Release 7.18.11 – For immediate release

On May 29th, the Pavilion team gathered at Vancouver Landing to help raise awareness for cardiovascular disease (CVD) by participating in the 2011 Greater Portland Heart & Stroke Walk. Not many people know that CVD is the number one killer of all Americans, or that CVD cuts short the lives of 1 in every 3 women. In fact, about every forty seconds someone dies from CVD. Like countless other Americans Pavilion too has been touched by CVD.

The American Heart Association organizes the Heart & Stroke Walk every year all across the nation. The event helps raise funds for groundbreaking research for heart disease prevention and pediatric heart and stoke research. The fundraiser promotes healthy competition between teams and individuals to raise funds for the cause. The Heart & Stroke Walk is also a time to share stories of remembrance, laughter and perseverance.

Pavilion Construction would like to extend thanks to all family and friends who did an amazing job in their efforts to help support such a serious cause. True success was not only measured in the funds that were raised for research and awareness, but it was also revealed in the faces of those who walked for a loved one, and was seen in the expressions of those who committed to a healthier lifestyle that day.
